Complete Dentures
Smile Confidently with Complete Dentures in Calgary
If you’re missing all of your teeth or multiple teeth on your top and bottom jaw, complete dentures are most likely your best option. A removable device that can be used to replace your missing teeth, complete dentures are made out of porcelain or acrylic and held together by an acrylic base. Complete dentures replace all of your teeth; as such, if you still have a few teeth remaining, you’ll need a tooth extraction prior to receiving your complete denture.
At Southland Denture Clinic, our experienced team offers two types of complete dentures in the Calgary area:
- Conventional dentures are made after your teeth have been extracted. Once your gum tissue has begun to heal, your conventional denture can be placed about 8-12 weeks after your extraction.
- Immediate dentures are made in advance of your extraction. They can be positioned in your mouth as soon as your teeth are
removed, which means you don’t have to be without teeth during the gum healing period.
While immediate dentures are often considered more convenient, their downside is that as your jaw shrinks over time, you’ll need more denture repairs and relines with immediate dentures.
No matter which type of complete denture you need in Calgary, schedule an appointment with Southland Denture Clinic. We have an in-house lab, which allows us to prepare your dentures very quickly. Call us today to learn more!
